Eats
and Treats:
Salt Cay is remote. There are a few stores which carry only
the basics. You can find delicious homemade bread; flan and fresh fish can
usually be had with a trip to Deanne's Dock. The kitchen at The Vistas is
well furnished and we try to provide a good supply of basic items such as
spices, flour, oil and such. We do our best but can't guarantee what will
be available. You can order food and beverage items that will be procured
from Grand Turk prior to your arrival, and food can be brought with you. Coolers
are permitted on airlines but no dry ice. (There are weight restrictions on
the flights to Salt Cay "see Getting There"). There are several
restaurants on this island and we can highly recommend Island Thyme, .

What
To Bring:
It is very casual; shorts, T-shirts and sandals are the rule.
Possibly a light wrap, and if you plan to hike, the terrain is rocky and prickly,
shoes and long pants recommended.
Getting
There:
Flights into Providenciales, the major airport in the Turks
and Caicos are available from Miami and New York through American Airlines
(see Other Connections below).
Once on Provo there is a 25 minutes flight to Salt Cay. The best connection
is Interisland Air and round trip costs is about $160.00. (Link
for schedules)
Salt Cay airport cannot be reached at night so an early arrival in Provo
is recommended. The last flight to Salt Cay is scheduled for 4:00 pm. There
are
weight restrictions, enforcement appears to be becoming more routine. If
you are bringing
scuba gear and food, you will almost certainly be over. Budget an additional
50-100 lbs. For groups of four or more it may be more economical to charter
a plane.
There

Other
airlines flying direct to Provo are British Airways from London, US Airways
from Charlotte and Delta from Atlanta.
